The Two Questions I Live By and Teach

After 5 years of teaching Mindfulness Meditation the entire process of dropping into the reality of the present moment has become summed up into two questions for me.

These two questions are incredibly simple, and when applied to our daily life have the power to put us in the driver’s seat of our existence and empower every moment of our day.

The two questions are:

Where is my attention now?

and

Where do I want my attention now?

You see a game changing moment on my spiritual path was when I realized that I am not my mind.

Every religious and spiritual tradition teaches us this. All lineages explain that who we really are is the witness watching our experiences, thoughts, emotions and experiences.

When we realize this we are able to have a new semblance of control in the matters of our life, or at least in the way we react to the matters of our life.

When the mind goes on it’s roller coaster ride of attack, worry and fear it is so painful and uncomfortable. But mostly we just think this is just reality.

What if this isn’t just reality? What if we actually have much more choice in the matter of where our attention is?

In Mindfulness Meditation we use the breath at the nostrils as a training tool to help us re-wire our brain and response mechanism away from all the neurotic thought patterns. We gently and compassionately notice where our attention is and then move our attention to our breath at the nostrils.

Essentially we ask the two questions I am presenting; Where is my attention now? And where do I want my attention now?

This is an amazing tool for re-training our habit powers and clearing out some of our more negative ways of thinking and acting.

However, after years of practicing Mindfulness Meditation I feel ready and excited to take this process one step further.

If we are going to make a choice about where to put our attention why not place it in the realm of energy.

The true reality for  absolutely everyone is that we are energetic beings.

Nobody is not an energetic being. But many of us aren’t paying attention.

When the mind is accustomed to having all of our attention it is very difficult to notice the subtle information coming to us from our energetic bodies.

But, if we start making conscious choices about where to put our attention, suddenly listening to our energetic information becomes really easy, and eventually automatic.

This is great, because our energetic system has a lot of information it can share with us, and through loving intention we can easily shift the energetic body.

And since our external world simply mirrors our internal energetic world, this is a direct route for completely changing our lives, in a very empowered way.

This is why I am calling my new Membership Program “Beyond Meditation.”

Because we will be using the skill of meditation which is our two questions; Where is my attention now? and where do I want my attention now? To bring our attention to our energetic selves in a very supported and practical manner.

For the first month (September 2016) we will focus on the ever-so-important skill of Raising Our Vibration.

Raising Our Vibration is the simplest form of shifting the energetic moment at hand.

And the first LIVE CALL in the membership program is free to ALL. In this call we will discuss what vibration is all about, why it is important and then we will practice raising our vibration together.
