Sometimes I think there might possibly be a one-liner sound bite which would sum up what it means to be on the human path, and if I could just find the small list of words that explain what it means to be human then my life would be easier.
And then I wake up from my own craziness and remember life is way too dynamic to have a one size fits all answer to what it means to be human.
One of my favorite Buddhist teachings is definitely impermanence.
Just really getting that every single moment is different, and this is the way it has always been, and this will be the way it will always be.
The more comfortable we can get with this reality of impermanence, the smoother we can sail along on this human journey.
Repressing our pain is one of the most dangerous things we can do to our energetic system, as we move through the daily challenges of the human incarnation. As humans we feel pain, this is part of our nature.
But as well, getting too identified with our pain is also seriously damaging. Because everything is meant to flow. Through acknowledging our pain we must be careful not to believe our pain is our true being.
We want to see the pain and feel the pain and then let it move up and out of our systems.
This is what I truly believe karma is, the choice to let everything that arises move up and out of our systems.
This is a skill we all need to learn, because moving karmic resonance through are systems is not an intellectual ability.
It is a sensual ability, actually.
We move energy by connecting to our senses.
This is why meditation, mindfulness and energy healing excite me so much.
With mindfulness and meditation we learn to see our thoughts in a a depersonalized manner and choose if we want to keep our attention on these thoughts or move our attention somewhere else, such as what we are doing in the moment like driving or cooking, or perhaps if we are meditating to the breath at the nostrils.
In energy healing we move our attention to how the energy feels around the body, chakras or energy field.
When applying self-healing techniques we move our attention to what we sense in our own energy and make choices about what intention we want to bring to our own energy.
I truly believe anyone can do this and I truly believe that this is one of the best skills we can use when:
- we are having health problems
- are confused about a choice we need to make
- are feeling depressed
- feel like we are stuck in our life
- have issues from the past to heal
We all know that feeling of talking and talking about our ‘problems’ but nothing changes. Through employing Self Healing techniques we can actually ‘do’ something about the pain we are feeling.
We can acknowledge there is pain in our systems through self-compassion and self-love, and then choose to not identify with the pain. Instead we can connect on an energetic level with the sensory aspect of the vibration and set the intention for a flow and shift to occur.
This is definitely a different way to connect with our everyday human existence then we were taught as children, and that is what is so exciting about self-healing.
The world needs to change and that change will only come from within each individual.
